Hello, my SCT friends! For those of you who reside in America, happy week of Thanksgiving. For my Canadian friends, I realize this calendar event has come and gone for the year, but I hope you’ll agree that it’s always a good time to discuss gratitude and ways to document what we’re thankful for.
In the spirit of giving thanks, please know that I’m incredibly grateful for you. You always get my week off to a positive and creative start, which means so much to me. And you’ve made me feel right at home as a member of the SCT family. Thank you!
Since I’ll be sitting around the Thanksgiving table later this week, I thought I’d dedicate today’s post to artistic expressions of gratitude.
GRATITUDE EXPRESSED
This bunch of brilliant books is sure to put you in a thankful state of mind.
Gratitude Canvas Book by Dawn McVey
This beauty proves you don’t have to have a paper book to create a stunning mini album. I’m definitely adding this idea to my “projects to make” list.
Gratitude Art Journal by Karen at Karenika.com
This paper-pieced art-journal page is a beautiful example of how art and blessing-counting can come together in a wonderful way.
Gratitude Hearts by Lori Vliegen of Elvie Studio
Where are my watercolour pencils? I want to get to documenting after seeing this delightful design.
Gratitude Card by Tammy Tutterow
Love this idea! Tammy creates gratitude cards, which she keeps in a Simple Stories [email protected]! Album. What a personal way to track those blessings. You could do this with pre-made journaling cards as well!
Gratitude Pockets & Tags by Nichole Heady of Papertrey Ink
Using the Papertrey Ink Seed Packet die, Nichole created this attractive book. What a happy way to reflect on what matters!
Gratitude Journal by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers
Aly is one talented chica! Take a look at this beauty she created for We R. Her use of pocket inserts and cork give her book such personality.
So Very Grateful by Dawn McVey
That Dawn—she sure knows how to make attractive minis. This time, she took a paper approach to create this darling design using some of the products she’s created for Papertrey Ink. So charming!
GRATITUDE STATED
Feeling inspired to create your own book of blessings? I thought you might enjoy a few quotes to get you started.
I’ll leave you with a look at a little gratitude project I created for my family’s Thanksgiving celebration. I used an old book and some of the sweet new True Friend collection by Fancy Pants Designs to create a book of blessings.
It’s a place where each dinner guest can write a note of appreciation for each of the other guests in attendance. I simply divided the book up into sections by guest so there’d be plenty of room for celebrating everyone.
For more on this project and other ideas for expressing thanks, I invite you to check out my latest personal blog post and TV segment HERE.
Again, thank YOU! I sure appreciate this opportunity to be a small part of your creative life. You bet that will be on my list of blessings this week and all year through.
Warmly,
~ Megan Hoeppner
