Hello and welcome to Stampin’ Up! Inspiration Saturday! It may only be the beginning of November, but Christmas is going to be here before you know it! To get your holiday projects started off right we’ve invited Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Angela McKay and Linda Yamamoto to share some of their great ideas using the new Watercolor Winter Simply Created Kit.
Watercolor Winter Simply Created Kit
This kit is extremely versatile with a multitude of creative possibilities. Let’s check out what our friend and Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Angela McKay has come up with!
“Many of my customers struggle implementing new tools like paint brushes in their crafting so with members of my Stampin’ Up! team, we looked for an alternative to the background. We grabbed our Work of Art stamp set to make that background a little easier for those who struggled with the paint brushes.”
“My customers love to see what they can do with the leftover bits and pieces to create alternative projects. Many of these creations just involved those last couple of bits and pieces from the kit and simply laying them on a card until the layout felt balanced.”
“Project life has been a life saver for many of my customers who love the memory keeping process but struggle to find time for traditional scrapbooking. So many of the elements of this card kit lent themselves so well to Project Life. Even those gorgeous envelopes were components that worked great for this purpose. The file folder framelits were ideal for adding tabs for journaling pullouts too.”
“This project was such an obvious thing to do with those gorgeous envelopes. After creating numerous projects with the kit, including scrapbook pages and other 3-d projects, there were lots of envelopes left over and this scrapbook made use of those envelopes and displayed them in a way that showed of their fun and creative style.”
“One thing my customers have really enjoyed over the years are those little touches that add beauty to the table during the holidays. The curvy keepsakes box was easily cut from the card bases and the leftover embellishments from the kit made it perfect for holiday decorating!”
Thank you so much Angela for sharing all your amazing ideas!
Now let’s dive in to the creative wonder that Linda Yamamoto has to share with us!
“I love how Smooch Spritz adds shimmer to my projects, and it’s perfect for a wintery touch. I used the negative image of one of the snowflakes as a stencil for my Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, and then added a die cut snowflake on top to add more dimension.”
“My customers always love learning new techniques for their products during my classes. This is a technique I’ve shared in past winter seasons – creating icicles with Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds glitter.”
“Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers have been a hit with my customers (and me!). The Coastal Cabana Blendabilities Markers made it easy for me to create a controlled, precise ombré effect on the letters for Merry on the Merry Christmas cards.”
“I used the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities markers to colour the flip side of the die cut gold glimmer dots I used inside the ornament so that it added a touch of colour to the contents. The box for the ornament is from one of the cards – scored at 2” & 4” on both sides of the scored line in the card, and then 2” from the bottom of the card, folded along the lines, cut the bottom flaps and adhered it together.”
“This kit makes great Christmas cards, but it can easily be adapted for other occasions. I created the Birthday card easily using scraps from the kit – cutting the glimmer flames from scraps around the die cut letters and shapes and the candles from cardstock.”
Thank you so much Linda and Angela for sharing your insight with us, not to mention these great projects!
