Happy 2015! It’s a new year and I thought it would be fun to create a calendar project. This will look pretty on your desk and keep you organized at the same time! The inspiration for this project is the easel card construction. This easel calendar is sized A9 which measures 8.5x5.5 inches when the project is flat. It fits perfectly into a mailing envelope should your friends and family be so lucky to receive your beautiful creation!
Creating the base A9 sized easel card:
1. Score 11 x 8.5 inch cardstock at 5.5 and 8.25 inches.
2. Valley fold on 5.5 inch score line and mountain fold on 8.25 inch score line.
3. Apply Scor-tape on the top (smaller) panel only.
4. Adhere a separate 8.5 x 5.5 inch card stock piece, lining it up to the top edge of the smaller panel. This completes the foundation of the easel card.
Embellishing and creating the calendar components:
Adhere two 8.5x5.5 pattern paper pieces to the front and bottom of the card. Download a 2015 calendar (there are many free printables on the internet), tesize so that the monthly pages measure 4x3, print onto copy paper, trim and staple together at the top. To personalize your project create a 3x4 booklet with journal cards to include message and photos. The booklet is slipped under a band near the top of the card so that it can be easily removed to flip to a certain photo or page to display.
Place a dimensional (chipboard, wood veneer) element onto the middle of the bottom card, this will be the anchor to keep your easel card propped up. The top card flap just sits behind this anchor (ie. no glue is required)
If you would like to send this creation away, just lift and move the top flap away from the anchor, lay it flat and place into an envelope- easy peasy!
I hope this inspires you to make an easel calendar!
Supplies: Teresa Collins Nine&Co. collection, WR cinch album binding for the booklet, calendar template downloaded from calendarlabs.com
