Good morning SCT friends! This is one of my favourite parts of the day when I get to sit down and reach out to you through this blog. Whether it's sharing great projects from our team, introducing some guest designers and their work to you or my personal favourite is Friday when we can end the week with a giveaway!
Before we get to the giveaway, I thought I would take a minute (or five!) to share some exciting things with you and because I love lists, I'm going to do in list form :)
- If you are on Facebook then you may have seen that we're about 250 fans away from 100,000. Yes, I really did just type 100,000! That is a huge number that makes me smile every time I see it. But want the great part here? We have not one but TWO big prizes to give away when we hit 100,000. (I just typed that number again and smiled!!!) BIG PRIZES! So, if you're on Facebook but have not followed us yet, it may be a great time to do that here!
- In just 7 weeks and with the release of our spring issue (March 20), SCT magazine will turn 9. NINE! When we launched what we thought would be a little regional publication in March, 2006 we had no idea it would be international by the next issue. Blessed and humbled are the words that come to mind. A very talented design team, supportive industry partners, fabulous retailers that distribute SCT and of course, YOU...our incredible readers is what made that happen. It is why we could not let this birthday go by without doing something really special. I'm not going to share what it is just yet but mark your calenders for March 21-29! It's going to be pretty awesome!
- "Are we a print magazine?" That is a question we get often these days and the answer is YES! "Do we have plans to go ONLY digital?" is another question we often get and the answer is NO! I won't lie. We love paper, we love ink, we love the creative process of bringing each issue to life four times a year. While we do have a digital edition of each issue that you can download for free anytime, we will always have a print edition that you can subscribe to or pick up in a local scrapbook store. For subscribers it comes in a pretty white envelope right to your door. Subscription is for postage only friends so if you would like to order a subscription, you can do that HERE. And, just know we print on really high quality paper that you're going to fall in love with. If you're a store owner, we have a great distribution program, just contact me at catherine@scrapbookandcards.com for information.
- On that note, why don't we get to today's giveaway which is not one, not two but THREE copies of our newest winter issue! Just leave a comment below by February 5th and you know what I'd like to know? What is your favourite part of each issue? Is it a certain article? Overall how-tos and information from our team? The feel of the paper and smell of the ink? We would love to hear what you love about SCT. And by the way, we are going to use some of those comments on our website!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend friends! We are very busy preparing for Crop & Create Markham which is just four weeks away! Imagine Ali Edwards, Doodlebug, Vicki Boutin and Virginia Nebel all under one roof! After that is Crop & Create Moncton and then Winnipeg! And between all those events, we will be at ScrapFest and Creativ Festival. Five events in 8 weeks...I call that a happy spring!

I love all the inspiration...going through it quickly the first time and dog-earring pages...then going through again slowly. and again, and again :)

OF COURSE THE INSPIRATION IS A GIVEN....BUT MY FAVORITE PART OF EACH ISSUE IS SEEING THE WAY THE PAGE DESIGNERS USE ITEMS IN DIFFERENT WAYS THAN YOU WOULD THINK TO USE THEM YOURSELF. I THINK THAT IS COOL.

My favourite part is the cover when I first get my copy. Just looking at the cover makes me anticipate all the inspiration that I know will be inside. ;-)

Your magazine is the best scrapbooking magazine I've ever come across. The photography is beautiful and ideas are so creative. There is so much inspiration in your pages, but the first section I like to check out is the Colour Suite, always fun!

I love seeing what other crafters are making and learning what is trending. So much beautiful eye candy.

I also like the cover and choosing if I like one of the other samples made for the cover better. Sometimes I do and sometimes like your choice. I love a paper magazine and SCT is the best of the best.

SCT is a terrific magazine...the quality (Paper! Colour!) is what hooked me from day one almost 9 years ago!

It is the greatest mag! I love it all especially new DIY techniques.

I would love to win one of your magazines, I don't think I have ever seen your magazines. I use to subscribe to all the scrapbook magazines until they went away or digital. I will have to look for your magazine the next time I am at a store. Thanks for the chance to win of the magazines.

Besides being the best of everything, it just wouldn't cut it if I couldn't hold it in my hot little hands. I, too, have almost 9 years worth of your magazines and refer to them time and again.
Keep up the good work and keep them coming.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

This may sound stupid but I always try and scrap lift your front cover. You always such fun, easy and enabling ideas. LOL

I would love a copy! I've looked at the magazine racks in stores but haven't found any scrapbook mags for a long time. I'd love to check yours out!

As a card maker I enjoy looking at the pages and figuring out how I can incorporate the designs into my cards.

I rip open the envelope and flip through the pages upon arrival. I then sit and slowly savor every word, every photo . . . ALL OF IT!! (and I love that I can turn the pages - - no digital for this girl!)

My fave part is all the creative inspiration.

I love the inspiration. Love going through the pages quickly, picking up layouts and colors, then diving into on specific page for the actual text, especially when there are tutorials.

I love all the different techniques. People are so creative and I love to look at all the layouts etc.
