Scrapbook & Cards Today Blog: Happy 9th birthday celebration

Welcome to Day FOUR of our fabulous 9th birthday celebration! We have loved reading your comments these last few days and cannot thank you enough for the kind thoughts! Keep them coming! Today design team member Laura Vegas is here to share a great birthday card idea along with our friends from Spellbinders and American Crafts!

"First, I want to wish Scrapbook & Cards Today a very happy 9th birthday! There's been a TON of inspiration and creative goodness packed into the last 9 years and I can't wait to see all that comes next!

Second, the one type of card that I always find myself needing more of is birthday cards, which is why I love to mass produce them a few times a year. My Silhouette Cameo comes in super handy for this, as I can cut pieces for numerous cards at once, and then simply piece them together.

I picked out a few designs from the cut file that Nicole put together for us HERE, and arranged them in my Silhouette software so that I could cut all of the pieces for 6 cards at once.

I picked out a few different patterned papers (one set for girlish cards and one set for boyish cards), and cut strips of each paper to place on my cutting mat: one pattern for the sentiment, one pattern for the scalloped borders, and 3-4 patterns for the little banner flags. So after running my cutting mat thru twice, once with each set of papers, I had everything I needed to make 12 cards, assembly style!
