Hello and welcome to Stampin’ Up! Inspiration Saturday! We are thrilled to have some our Stampin’ Up! friends join us today. Welcome Allison Okamitsu and Susy Côté! They are here to share some stunning projects using the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set and Butterfly Thinlits Dies. How nice that this stamp set is available in photopolymer, clear and wood! Whatever your preference, our friends at Stampin’ Up! have you covered.
Let’s see what Allison Okamitsu has to share with us using this beautiful bundle of products:
“I absolutely adore the Butterfly Thinlits Die. These die cuts make such a striking, yet delicate, addition to any project. The addition of the butterfly on this card takes it to showstopper status for sure.”
“There are so many fabulous images in this stamp set. I love the delicate look of coloured images, so this card will be perfect for my next class.”
“I think this stamp set lends itself to soft and pretty projects in muted pastel tones, but I wanted to kick it up a few notches to show the versatility of stamps, ink, and paper. By switching up the colour palette, this stamp set goes from soft and sentimental to bold and beautiful.”
“I love watercolouring. I often watercolour entire pieces of paper and leave them in my stash to use on projects down the road. I stumbled upon these tiny watercoloured bits leftover from a previous project and knew they’d look great with the Butterfly Basics stamp set. The rustic honeycomb image really ups the ‘grunge’ factor on this card, and the black butterfly is a great focal image to ground all those bright pops of colour.”
“This butterfly looks so delicate die cut from another great find in my watercoloured paper stash. It’s the perfect replacement for the typical bow on a beautifully wrapped present. I can’t wait to surprise the guests at my next stamping event with butterfly adorned packages!”
A big thank you to Allison Okamitsu for sharing her fabulous selection of projects with us today! Next up is Susy Côté, let’s see what she’s created to share with us:
“The Artisan Embellishment Kit in the current catalogue is very inspiring with its die-cut 3’ x 4’’ rose-design cards. The Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper is reminiscent of the most romantic love stories… And both look lovely combined with the Butterfly Basics stamp set.”
“Inspired by the same theme, I designed this favour bag using a sketch I found online as a starting point. The Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies are perfect to create small bags reflecting the celebration’s colour theme. Pick a paper, use the various dies from this set to design our own treat bags.”
“The Butterflies Thinlits Dies offer endless possibilities. The focal point of this card was created using a single piece of cardstock. I used a partial die-cutting technique to highlight the intricate details of the die. I folded back the middle to create legs and kept some of the cut-outs from the wings to create the antennas. Although cards might be a fleeting gift for some people, you can bet this one may find a permanent home in a frame somewhere.”
“The stamps from this set include key elements to create your own patterned paper. This card is a little more complex than the previous ones and offers another example of partial die-cutting. On a piece of 4” x 12” Very Vanilla Cardstock, I stamped the background before die-cutting the wings using the Thinlits dies and the Big Shot. The edges of the Blackberry Bliss Cardstock were inked with a sponge dauber and Gold Encore ink for a subtle elegant touch.”
“For the longest time, I had been hoping for the right tools to create a project using the pieced die-cut technique. The intricate butterfly dies are the perfect inspiration for this fresh Spring card. The Birthday Bash Designer Washi Sheets are a beautiful way to protect the cardstock against scratches when die-cutting the image, and their delicate patterns make a lovely background! The washi sheets are easy to use and a quick way to create a matching envelope! Simply cut strips of the desired width, or use the Banners Framelits to get the shape you want.”
