Hello SCT friends! We have a special treat for you today so we're glad you're here! Recently we had the pleasure of spending a weekend with Ali Edwards at Crop & Create Markham. Her philosophy to memory keeping is about keeping it authentic and keeping it simple. She is real and her way of teaching is amazingly insightful. "All stories are worth telling" she says and we could not agree more. Ali has graciously offered a spot in her brand new workshop "Type" to one lucky SCT reader!
"Join Ali Edwards for a 12-week investigation into working with type in memory keeping projects. Focus in this workshop is on finding fun ways to incorporate and emphasize type (letter stickers, letter stamps, fonts, and handwriting) to get your stories told. Watch the video HERE and check out the schedule for a look at the specific topics covered over the 12-weeks.
What you'll learn:
- The basics of type: kerning, choosing, pairing, contrast, etc.
- Composing paragraphs: what to keep in mind, watch out for, etc.
- How type can support the stories you want to tell
- What rules to break and which ones I think are worth following
- Fun, creative ideas for playing with type
- Tips and suggestions for hand-lettering
- Adding type and alphabets directly to photos (both digitally and with physical products)"
Sounds like an amazing class! For an opportunity to win a spot in Ali's "Type" class, be sure to leave a comment below by Thursday, April 9th! Winner will be announced on Friday, April 10th.
But wait, there's more. Ali has also offered a 20% discount on this class until April 6th so be sure to sign up before then HERE. If you are the winner of today's giveaway, your class fee will be refunded.
More great news too. Ali and Katie will be joining us at Crop & Create Abbotsford, BC on April 16-17, 2016! More details to follow!
Wishing all our readers a wonderful Easter weekend! Will you be running away from the chocolate or will you be running to the chocolate? Or maybe a little bit of both!
Tomorrow is Stampin' Up! Saturday and on Sunday we will announce all the winners of our 9th birthday celebration. You can still enter all the giveaways until tomorrow at noon by starting HERE. Huge prizes so be sure to enter each day!

What I hope to learn most from this workshop is working through my creative fear; getting real; being inspired and being open to allow Type to support the vast amount of stories I am bursting to tell, because stories matter people! To figure out new exciting ways to tell the pieces of the stories that I want to tell and when I feel like it’s wrong or not as good as I want it to be to do it anyway; to actually finish the stories - after all perfection is so over-rated!

I've never taken a class by Ali, but I've always loved her style! I'm a lover of text and fonts, and I'm really intrigued by this class ... hope I win!

Thank you so much for the opportunity to win a spot in this inspiring class! I would absolutely love to join this workshop as I am constantly aspiring to master new techniques and learn new things (but on a recent grad budget, I can't always afford to do so). Type has been something I struggle with when it comes to layouts recently and I would love the opportunity to learn new and inspiring things from Ali's expertise! Fingers Crossed!

Would love to win a spot in this class!! I have such a fun time playing with "type" already, and would LOVE to get involved in / inspired by a community of people who enjoy it too... and of course, want to learn as much as I can from a class that I'm sure is jam packed full! Thanks again for sharing:)

I would love to learn to use TYPE/fonts better, mine always seems to be the weakest part of my layouts.
