Thank you for joining us for our first challenge of the day! We have always wanted to host a "round robin challenge" with the team and this just seemed the perfect time to do that! Design team member Sheri Reguly started by choosing this inspiring photo from the Pottery Barn Teen website...
She then created this card based on the above image...
"I absolutely love the crisp white paired with summery shades of light pink, aqua and yellow. The adorable heart, feather and arrow accents were all just too cute to resist. I had to include them all in my design!
I created the sentiment for my card by simply trimming a transparent overlay to size. You have to get a little creative when it comes to adhering these to you designs, especially since you don’t want any adhesive to be visible. The transparency portion that I used was very light weight, and all it took was a little adhesive strip hidden under the feathers and the stickiness of the enamel dot to hold it securely in place. Other great options, if there’s nowhere to hide the adhesive, are brads, staples and machine/hand stitching." Sheri Reguly
Next we passed the image of the card, but not the inspiration image, to designer Emily Pitts...
Emily was inspired by the beautiful colour palette and Sheri's pretty feathers as she created her card. And then it was Melissa Phillip's turn...
“The colors of the card I used as my inspiration, just screamed fall to me. I love incorporating aqua in with autumn colors, such as the orange, melon, and lime shown on the first card, so I went with a fall theme using the beautiful color scheme shown. I also loved the touch of wood on the inspiration card, so I added a bit of woodgrain paper, with a small floral pattern on top, near the bottom of my card to replicate that. I am always so happy to see others drawn to using and combining patterns and loved that about that card that I used as my inspiration…therefore, being a pattern lover myself, added plenty of it to my card.” ~ Melissa Phillips
And finally we sent Melissa's card to design team member Jen Gallacher...
I really loved Melissa's feminine card design. It inspired me to start with a floral designed paper from Crate Paper. I also included other feminine details like the die cut leaves and the crumpled doily. Rather than add stamping to my card, I used two pre-made items: the "First Class" tag and the pocket and tag sticker. Using pre-made items makes any card come together quickly." ~ Jen Gallacher

What a great assortment of prizes! I love the ideas from the round robin. It's interesting to see how the cards developed as you move from one designer to another and how closely the last card still works with the original inspiration. Neat!
