Hello Friends! One of the questions I am asked quite often, is how to make a shaped card. Some card makers, especially those just starting out, have a hard time figuring out the base of a shaped card. Today I am going to walk you through a few simple steps, that will have you creating shaped cards with ease.
First you are going to need, two die cuts that are exactly the same.
You can mechanically die cut out shapes (shown above) with card stock, or with an electronic die cutting machine, or even with scissors. You will just need two shapes of the same exact size.
Next, with one of the die cuts, you are going to score a line about an inch down from the top. This is going to make the card open, close and stand up unassisted.
Above the score line, you will need to add a strong permanent adhesive. This will ensure that your card stays together.
Now that your base is created, you can start assembling your card.
Below are a few examples of how to make different shaped cards!
Supplies: Lawn Fawn dies; Fancy Pants Designs Dream Big Collection; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L adhesive; Lawn Fawn Twine kraft & white card stock
