Guest Designer: Gail Linder is here with her favourite journaling tip!

Good morning Gail Linder here! I'm so excited to be sharing a layout with you all on the blog today! I created a layout using lots of my favorite things - colors, patterns and techniques that really show off my style! But the most important thing in my scrapbooking are the words + photos. I always include meaningful journaling and today's layout is no exception. I'll share one of my favorite journaling tips below but first, let's take a look at the whole layout!

 Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics, Patterned Paper, Chipboard, Die Cuts, Enamel Dots, Word Stickers: Crate Paper, Washi Tape, Date Stamp, Mist: Heidi Swapp

I wanted to scrapbook this photo, a selfie of my two oldest children and I. I made it the focus of the layout by adding in layers behind and the title slotted in below to lead the eye back across to the photo.

Now the title itself "gather" was from a chipboard embellishment sheet and it inspired the story I wanted to tell.

Rather than just add a line of journaling that reads something like "a photo of us on the couch one night," I decided to dig a little deeper and tell the story of my kids' relationship. Like normal siblings, there is arguing and fighting and it drives me nuts! But deep down, I know they will always look out for each other.

The next time you want to dig a little deeper, try thinking about these prompts: I see . . ., I feel . . ., I hope . . . Hopefully this will inspire a story!

I love this layout, Gail! It has a simple look (easy on the eyes) but there's a lot going on. And thanks for the journaling prompts - I often just say the "Who, what, when..." instead of digging a little deeper.
