Happy Magazine Monday, friends!
Have you had the chance to dig into the Summer 2017 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today? We’re so proud how it turned out — we’re simply beaming!
Today I want to give you a little peek into the issue and share with you…
FIVE THINGS I LOVE ABOUT THE SUMMER 2017 ISSUE!
- Lists
In Cathy Zielske’s column Design Your Story, she gives some great ideas for list making in your scrapbooking. I don’t know about YOU, but I am list-lover! I make so many lists. I even have separate notebooks and planners for different situations. Her list about her 21-year-old daughter is so perfect, and truly captures a moment in time.
- Flamingos
I sure do love flamingos, and this issue has a flamboyance of them! You can find flamingos on pages 5, 10, 22, 48, 62, 68, 72, 75, 77, 81, and even on the back cover (did I miss any?)! I love Virginia Nebel’s homage to the fabulous pink bird in her Faces of Summer layout.
- Extras
Each issue comes with loads of extras to help you tell your stories, to teach you techniques, and to save you time. In our Pocket Play column, Meghann Andrew shared about the Collect app from The Lens Lab. Meghann says, “Inside the app, my images are automatically cropped, and I can quickly add my journaling below each photo.” After that, she simply prints them and saves time on her journaling. You might want to check it out!
- This card!
I love this card by Latisha Yoast using the Aloha stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I mean, a pineapple with cool shades. What could be cuter?
- Inspiration Gallery
The Inspiration Gallery is so AWESOME! Our readers just knocked it out of the park sharing layouts, cards, and projects that not only scream summer, but make me want to sit down and create. And THAT’S what it’s all about! I am particularly mesmerized with Majken Pullin’s Lovely layout pictured below. Those bold blooms and trendy elements paired with the simply enchanting vintage photo are absolute perfection.
What were your favorite parts of the issue? We’d love to hear in the comments below!
Here’s to summer!

I wish that collect app that Meghann recommended was available for Android phones. I think it would be an awesome time saver!
